NAVY LEAGUE

There*\ a good attendance at yesterday'p "misting of, the executive of the Navy League, over which Mr. j4 F Roberts presided,

The Education Committee reportedl having visited Lyall Bay School, and presented pictures of the Prince of Wales to the scholars. Seatoun was being visited that afternoon.

It was resolved that subscriptions to the league paper. The Navy, should im future be sent direct to London, andi be quite apart from the members' subscriptions here.

A request was received to assist to pay the passage of a naval man to England. The request came from Christchurch, where funds for such_ purposes are in hand. The Wellington League sent all the money oollected, during the war to England, but it was decided to raise tha necessary amount by private subscription.

A letter was read from. Masterton, asking if funds in hand could be used fop educational purposes. It was resolvedl than an answer be sent to the effect that all Navy League moneys can be used for educational propaganda. A recommendation from the Ladies' auxiliary that the wool-growers be asked to allocate *funds for a sailors' hostel was endorsed by the executive, who expressed the opinion that sailors should certainly receive the first call for any benefit from such surplus profits. It was cuecided that an officei be engaged to attend the Navy League office daily, as the work is growing so much.
