CHARGE OF FORGERY
A young man named Reginald William Norman appeared before Mr. J. S. Evans, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court this morning on a charge oi having forged the name of Arthur Collins to an application for a taxi-driver's license. ChiefDetective Ward said that accused had been living in the- same house with Collins at Kilbirnie. On 31sfc August he applied at the council offices for a taxidriver's license in the name of Arthur Collins, and signed the application in that name, at the same'time handing in a motor-driver's certificate of competency made out to the same person. Collins, in evidence, denied that he had given accused authority to sign his name to the application for a license. Accused eaid ho had signed Collins's name with Collins's consent. He was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
