SUPREME COURT FEES

AN ALTERATION ANNOUNCED.

The Minister of Justice announced to-" day that an alteration had been mads in the seal© of fees for proceedings in the Supreme Court. The principle change is in connection with the fee payable on the sealing of probate. Under the old scale the highest fee payable was £3, but under the new arrangement £3 is reached on an estate of £3000, and an extra £1 is to be paid for every £1000 in excess of that amount. This will mean that on am estate of £100,000 the fee payable for probate will be £100. These increases, which, of course, have nothing to do with the change in death duties forecasted by the Prime Minister, will go towards nveeting the increases granted to tha staffs of Courts.
