PRIMARY SCHOOLS' TOURNA MENT
ENTERTAINMENT AND GAMES.
The Primary Schools' Tournament was oontiuued at Potono yesterday. The boys spent tho morning in a visit to Lover Bros.' soapworks, and to the Hint Park, where, tho great attraction was tho aeroplane. Tho boys mid their masters woro then the guests at a luncheon oi tho ictono School Oommittt'o, masters, -1 oys and girls, and residents. Mr. F. A. Homploman, president of thf! Wellington Primary Schools' Eugby Uniou, thanked the P.' tone peoplfl for the splendid way in which they had provided for the wants of tlio boys that day.
The first game commenced at 1.45 ]>.in , Wanganui v. Mnnawatn. After their decisive defeat of WoUmgton on the previous day, it was expected that Wanganui would prove strong opponents, Tha jfamo wafl vsv« well csotitesUd, and 'toiai> pt»od i»lus> multedt Wuixtiaui teot«d two tsies« but
thoir defence was even bettor than tlieir attack. Manawatu, though playing ft somewhat improved game aa compared with tho previous day's play, could t.ot score.
The second game, Wellington v. Wairarapa, proved that the form shown on the previous day by Wellington was no criterion of what they could do. While Wai. rarapa played a good, solid game, Wellington on the day proved to oe superior in both, the forward and back divisions. In the first spell Wellington put on 3 points —a try by Wixon. . On changing round, Wellington scored again, bufc Wairaraipa rallied, and Yates broke away and scored a fine try.. Taking: tho kick himself, he converted, making the score Wairarapa 5, Wellington 6. Wellington's snporiority, soon reasserted itself, and' three other tries' were obtained, bringing the score to 15—8. To-day, the boys met at tho G.1'.0. and were taken round the city in tho observation cars. The 1 final game's take nlaos at Athletic Park to-morrow, when Wellington meet Manawatu at 1.30 p.it)., and Wairarapa meet Wanganui at 3 p.m. Tho Wellington team will be:—Full-back, M'Eurneyi three-quarters, Narris, Kinif, Walls; five-eighths, Ward, Nicholls; half, Whmhsm: forwards — Foon, Clark, Wixon, N. Fordham, S. BWham, Hughes, iFitzmsunce, Waitai; emergencies, Barrett and Stewart.
