LONDON, 26th August. Fender made a hundred runs in thirtyfive minutes, beating Jessop'B record of forty minutes, made in 1897. His score included five sixes and sixteen fours. He gave two chances. His driving was wonderful. ■■. '■■' -
Playing against Kent, Hendren made eighty-four in: forty-three minutes, in-, eluding one six and thirteen' fours, by terrific hitting. .
Nothing is settled' as regards an amateur team" for New Zealand, but efforts are being made to send one. There is a strong desire to send a team if posisilsle, as the team for Australia •will be unable to visit New Zealand. The Marylebone Club is quite in. favour of the scheme. . .."•.' , ..• %
