ART EXHIBITION

There has been s constant stream of visitors to the M'Gregor Wright Gallery to see the works of the Society of Seven. This little brotherhood of painters has got together an exhibition of which it nßay well be proud. It shows some fine examples in oils of one of its original members, the late Mr. E. G. Hood. Landscapes and seascapes predominate, but there are two very fine portraits in monochrono of elaborately tatooed Maori chiefs, by Mr. M'Donald. Mr. A. Nicholl, of Christchurch. is represented by some studies from Concarneau; Mr. W./filler by some night pieces, quite original in their handling of swirling water; Mr. Murray Fuller has a variety of works, including church ruins at Houplines; Mr. Nugent 'Welch is al#o well represented. Some boat studies of his have already been bought. Mr. Sedgewick and Mr. A. Bender are both* will represented. The red disc indicating a sale appears on many of tho works alreadv.
