THE JONES SHIPPING LAW
(Received August 24^ 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, 23rd August. Reports from Tokio indicate that the new American shipping law (the "Jones Law") continues to cause grave concern in Japanese shipping and trading circles, where it is alleged to be a possible menace to Japanese transportation between Japan and < America. Advices state that leading Japanese steamship companies doing b\isiness with America are preparing for an energetic campaign against the new shipping legislation of the American Government.
