MOSLEM EXODUS

ACROSS AFGHAN FRONTIER

SERIOUS TROUBLE RESULTS.

(INITE» PRSSI ASSOCIATION.—COFXKiaHT.)

DELHI, 14th August.

The emigration of Indian Moslems to Afghanistan as & protest against the Turkish peace terms is assuming alarming proportions. About" 20,000 have crossed the frontier. This is a- result of the preaching of Mullahs, to the effect that Moslems remaining in India will become outcasts. Lying reports have also been spread that the holy places at Mecca and Medina, which are in the hands of the British, have been desecrated or destroyed. Many small landowners who sold everything in c-rdeiv to emigrate are starving at Khyber Pass. Many ihave returned to India with stories of illtreatment at the hands of Afghans. The constant influx is becoming so inconvenient that the Ameer of Afghanistan has ordered a stoppage of the movement until further notice. ' .
