LEGISLATORS' SALARIES
(Received August 13, 2.30 p.m.) \. CAPETOWN, 12th August, The South African House of Assembly passed, by 69 votesto 20, an item in the Supplementary Estimates for a temporary increase in members' and senators' salaries from £400 to £600 per. annum. Several members objected on the ground that the vote was unconstitutional and should be covered by a Bill 1.
