The Supreme Court refused the application 1 for a writ of habeas corpus calling upon the captain of the Khyber to show cause for the detention of Jerger. Leave to appeal was granted.

MELBOURNE, 26th July. An application on behalf of Father JergOT for an order to enable his evidence in connection with his claims for £5000 damages from General Eyrie, As-sistant-Minister- of Defence, to be taken on commission, was refused.
