This company is considerably enlarging its fleet, and has in course . of execution a. ship building programme of no less than 120,000 tons. Excellent work was carried out by.the Gisborne watersiders last week ort the To Anau, : 5200 tons of southern produce being discharged into lighters in the roadstead and over 100 tons of.outward cargo loaded-within .two days. ULIMAROA ARRIVES TO-NIGHT. According to a wireless message received last night, the Huddart-Parker steamer Ulimaroa will arrlvo at Wellington from Sydney direct at 7 o'clock this evening. The steamer Paeroa, which has been abandoned to tho underwriters, was in.3ured for £750 in the Union of Canton Office, and the cargo of timber was also insured. The Paeroa went aground -while crossing the Hokitika bar a few days ago. She is a wooden steamer o! 01" tons register. She was built in Auckland in ISDI, and for many years was owned by the Northern Steamship Company, which employed her in the Auckland trade. Her principal dimensions arc: Length, S7ft in; breadth, 36ft 2in; nud depth, 6ft lin. The New Zealand Shipping Company's linei Kuahirie arrived at Wellington at 3 p.m. yesterday from Southampton, via Auckland. She berthed at No. 1, Queen's Wharf. On completion of discharge at Wellington she will load meat at Gisborne, returning to Wellington to sail for London, via Panama, about tho 10th Augnst. The Navua, which arrived, at Auckland on Friday from- the Islands, had on board the following saloon passengers:—Misses Drew, Stackhouse, Wiltshire, Eayes (2), Mann, Sheen, Mesdamcs Wilson, Fry and child, Priest, Lethbridge (2), Elliott (2), Reynolds.
