RETURNED SOLDIER'S DEATH
ROTORUa", 25th July, . At 4.50 p.m. on Saturday, Hector D. Urquhart, a returned soldier, in attempting to cross the railway, line at Mamaku in front of the incoming Rotorua express,, was caught by the engine, and his legs were severed He was brought' in to the Rbtorua Hospital, where he was operated , on, but died about 9.30 o'clock. Deceased was aged about 30, and he had drawn a section at Rotorua. He had been to Rotorua on business, and was returning to Auckland by the afternoon train, which passes the express at Mamaku. • '
