INVERCARGILL, 18th June.

The Farmers' Union Provincial Conference to-day was addTessed by Messrs. J. M'Pherson and "W. J. Watters, of the Wheat Control Board, on the urgent necessity of increasing the Dominion's wheat production.

The conference affirmed the desirability of the establishment of co-o.perative woollen mills and freezing -works/^in the province, and expressed itself in favour of a proposal to utilise surplus wool profits for the establishment of a producers' shipping line.
