NEW YORK, 10th June.

Mr. Samuel Gompers (president of the American Federation of Labour) told the Platform Committee at Chicago that legislation proposing to make strikes unlawful or to compel the workers to submit their grievances to the courts was an invasion of the rights, of the workers, and if enforced would be equivalent to serfdom and slavery.
