GENERAL BIRDWOOD
The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) has sent a cable to General Birdwood, stating that the city of Wellington desired to tender him a. reception on Thursday evening next at 8 o'clock. Invitations have been sent to 'the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition to be present, and also representatives of the Returned Soldiers' Association.
