BETTER ACCESS
ROSENEATH'S REQUIREMENTS.
The requirements of Roseneath in the shape (if better access to the city and new roadw were presented to the Outlying Districts Committee of the City Council by a deputation of the local Municipal Electors' Association. The spokesmen were Messrs. R. W. Burbidgo and T. Ward, and the chief request whs for bettor road access, on the lines of tlie-report adopted in 1914, by way of Hawker-street across the Belt to Graftou-road, and so on to Hataitai. There were large areas of .building land available, if better communication were provided. A motor service would be a payable proposition right round to Boyd'.s store at Hataitai. The need for cross roads was emphasised by Mr. Ward, who also drew attention to the dangerous parts ,of the existing roads f and the insufficiency of the existing fire brigade station.
Councillor L. M'Kenzie, as chairman, promised the consideration of the, committee to the proposals.
