COLLEGE GOVERNORS
The monthly meeting of the Board of College Governors was held to-day. Mr. W. F. Ward presided and there were also present: Sir Edward Gibbes, Messrs. ■J. P. Luke, T. Forsyth,' W. Allan; and W. H. P. Barber. A financial statement showed that after outstanding fees had been collected, there would be a credit balance of £2692 19s 2d. A communication from the Secondary Teachers' Association asked that all vacancies for positions worth more than £200 per year should be advertised. The Chairman stated, that that was already the practice of the board. The letter was received. On the recommendation of Miss M'Lean, Miss Barber was appointed music teacher at the Girls' College, her duties being .to cultivate the/musical tastes of the junior pupils—tt, teach potential listeners to distinguish good and bad in music, and to ..improve the musical ear and taste.
