RUGBY REFEREES
MEETING OE ASSOCIATION.
The annual meeting of the New Zealand Referees' Association was held in the V.M.C.A. rooms last evening. Mr. D. M'Kcn/.ie (president) was in the chair, and others present were:—Messrs. A. Wetherilt (Auckland), W. C. L. Baskerville (Wairarapa), S. S. Dean (Poverty Bay), B. Manning (South . Canterbury). A. C. Kitto (Wellington), M. Hannan (Maryborough), E. Perry .(Hamilton), H. S. Leith (Otago), J. T. Peake (Canterbury), A. C. Eastwood (Southland),- H. G. Bennett (Manawatu); S. Wilson (Waiapu), E. B. L. Reade, J. H. Francis, and J. F. O'Sullivan (members of the Executive), and L. M. Sievers (lion, secretary).
The animal report and balance-sheet, the latter showing a credit balance of , £52, were taken as read.. In moving the adoption the chairman congratulated the association on the renewed interest beiug taken in Rugby football, oho big- .factor in this connection being the revival of the various Referess' Associations throughout the Dominion. A short discussion ensued on the matters dealt with in the report, and the motion for its adoption was carried. It was decided to write off all subscriptions in arrears prior to the 1919 season, it being recognised that,the war period and the'consequent forced vacation of the affiliated associations were primarily responsible for the laxity in paying subscriptions. ' Officers for the ensuing twelve months, were elected as follows:—President, Mr. D. Jl'Kenzie; vice-presidents, the Presidents of tho Affiliated Associations; secretary and treasurer, Mr. L. M. Sievers ; auditor. Mr. C. H. Manson; executive, Messrs. J. H. Francis, R. T. Bailey A. C. Kitto, T. A. Fletcher, J. S. Leith, and S. S.- Dean. The association has had only two presidents and two secretaries .Messrs. R. ; M. Isancs and D. M'Kenziu beinsr the only occupants of the former position, and J. M. Bobb and L. M. Sievers. of the latter. An honorarium was voted to the secretary for his services since 1916, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to- Mr. C. H. Manson, auditor. It was decided, on the Auckland delegate's motion, that the New Zealand Rnfib" Unior be requested to give the association direct representation on the Management Committee oi the governing body.
