STRATFORD, 26th May.
The Hon. C. J. Parr, Minister"for Education, visited Stratford to-day and received several deputations dealing with local requirements. The necessity, for a hostel in connection with the new High School was urged, and the Minis- ! ter promised favourable consideration. A deputation asking that instruction in the effects of alcohol on the human body be part of the school curriculum was informed that the Minister, while sympathetic, could make no definite promise until he had met a Dominion deputation on the. same subject which was expected to approach him shortly. • . .'NEW PLYMOUTH, 26th May. • Mr. Parr, in continuation of his Tata* naki tour, reached New Plymouth this afternoon, and is remaining here till' Friday morning to deal with local educational requirements.
