N.Z. FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
iM*N'UAIi REPOP,T.
Various Blatters of interest are contained ir the report of the newZealand Football Association to be presented at, the annual meeting of delegates next week. Anticipations of good progress have been realised. ■Ghalleiigfes for the Brown Shield, at present hold by Wellington, have, been received from Auckland, Canterbury, and 'Poverty Bay, in that ordei. The question-of adequate Soccer news from England has been kept in view, and arrangements are being completed for the cabling of all first-class results from Home. As the association will have many important matters fco consider in ths near future, it has been suggested tha* the setting uj. of committees to deal %nth these matters would greatly strengthen the council's hands and lead to better work, being done. The report says : "Mr. F. J. Courtney, in his original letter to ths Football Association, in July l&3i, suggested that we should set up a special board for matters 'of vital' importance to the game, and your aeso-' ciation would do well to fully consider this, proposition. The work iri connection with all special questions is undoubtedly heavy, and it would be well to keep it apart from ordinary routine details, so that all ,these subjects may have the attention they deserve." The thanks of the association are dr.e to Mr. A. E.. Gibbs (representative in London), the officiate of the English Association, Mr. T. M'Laren (acting secretary), and the press. The financial statement shows p.. credit balance at the bank of £53 15s 6d.
