Herrera pleads that Carranza. committed suicide, but it is understood that an autopsy showed that this was untenable. Great crowds attended the funeral. A session of Congress selected Adolfe Hnerta, Governor of Sonora, as interimPresident of Mexico. He received 224 votes, against. 28 for Gonzales.
