STRANDED AORERE
SOME FURTHER PARTICULARS.
The latest information to' hand regarding the Aorere, which is ashore on Rangitikei Beach, is to the effect that the vessel went aground at 5 p.m. on Sunday about five ' miles below the Rangitikei Heads. A gale was raging at the time, and a heavy sea was running. The Aorere was bound .from Blenheim to Wanganui with barley and. chaff. . The f 'crew managed to get ashore safely. Captain Crothy was in charge of the Aorfere at the time of the mishap. It is understood that the litle vessel was leaking to such an extent that the fires were extinguished, and consequently she was left to the mercy of wind and sea. The veswel has a cargo of chaff and barley from Blenheim. ' The insurances are unknown. It is doubtful if there is anyone on the vessel.
