Short loans are 5J per cent., a fall of 2s 6d on the week. . The Department of Agricnlutre has received the following cablegram, dated 21st inst., from the High Commissioner for New/Zealand, London :—"Hemp: Manila market is easier; poor demand early this week, but fair business has been done later at lower prices. < "J" grade, February to June shipments, sold £63; JuiySeptember shipment about £65 10s; New Zealand market quiet, and prices unchanged.
