CARTERTON, This Day. At a meeting of the Carterton Oddfellows' Miniature Rifle Club it was decided to hold a five-men badge competition during the season. It was also resolved to arrange a friendly match against Fe»therston Club, to be fired at Featherflton the first week in June.
A meeting of the Featherston Welfare Committee of the Patriotic Sooiety was held <5n Saturday, when two loans were recommended, and one application for temporary assistance was granted. Three applications for Joans were held over pending further particulars.
In the senior football championship in the Wairarapa, the Carterton team is leading with- 6 points. Masterton is second with 4 points, and Red Stars (Masterton) third with 2 points. In the junior contest, Greytown is in the lead with 6 points, Pukio and Dalefield second with 4 points each. Masterton and Carterton are even in the third-class competition with 2 pointß each.
