REDS HEAVILY DEFEATED

It is stated that the Reds attacked the Japanese east of Verckneudinsk, and were defeated with the loss of three hundred killed. The Japanese had two casualties. The quality o£ the Siberian troops was of the poorest. They showed no inclination to. fight. Other Rod forces are assembling west and south of Nikolaievsk.
