FALL IN THE FUR MARKET.
PJW^SURE BY AMERICAN BANKS. NEW YORK, 21st May. The fur auction sales show that the prices of furs are 25 to 30'-per cent, lower than at spring sales,. There is a general tightening of the markets, with ari attendant fall in prices. • A number of' small dealers throughout the country h;vve failed, while others were saved after receiving aid from the American Fur Dealers' Association. Tho policies of the banks in restricting credits arc held to be responsible for this, development. ■
