BENEFIT CONCERT.
A concert given by Wellington artists in aid of the Stage Employees' Sick and Benefit Fund was well patronised last night. The Grand Opera House was packed, and somn people were unable to obtain admission. The entertainment was meritorious in every way. As an overture .the combined Artcraft and Paramount orchestras player! selections from
"Taunhauser." Excellent vecal numbers were contributed by Miss Anw» Sullivan ("Love the Pedlar")," Miss Blanche Densam; Mr. V. Mackenzie ("Oh! Hear the Winds Blow"). Mr. J. Bryant ("hi Old Madrid"), Mr. Robert Meates ("Mandala.y". and "Rocked in thfe Cradle of the Deep"), Mr. J. Byi-n ("The -Village Blacksmith"). Mr. F. A. Campbell ("When You Are There"), Mr. C. Melvin ("Rip Van Winkle"), and Mr. VV. Goudie ("The Last Call")'. A very pleasing duet was sung by Mr. H. Scaife and Miss Irene Byrne. Two delightful elocutionary items were given by Mr. Zsnte Wood ("Tick Tock")^ and Mr. Culford Bell ("The Dandy Fifth"). Also most enjoyable were the violin solos played by Mr. .Louis Spivo and Miss Maggie Foster. Accompaniments were played by Misses Irene Grant. Florrie AlilW, Irene- Byrns, Messrs. G. Holloway, and Reg. Brown.
