The final business of the Secondary Schools Assistants' Conference is being discussed in committee to-day by members of this and last year's executives and certain nominated members of the Association. Questions regarding a projected appeal case were fully discussed this morning, as were also matters regarding points to be brought up at the conference with the Minister for Education in June.

Messrs. Vine and Wilson will sell furniture at 157, Washington-avenue, Brooklyn, to-morrow, at 1 p.m.

In order to bring matters of importance, such as drainage and gas supply, before the City Council, it is proposed to form a Karori Progress Association, of ratepayers and residents. A meeting for this purpose will be held in the Karori Council Chambers on Tuesday, at 8 p.m.

The Wellington R.S.A. has arranged * meeting in the Club Rooms for tormorrow night, at 7.30, for all men suffering with T.B. or C.P.D.I. Mr. H. J. Aekfns, of the Cashmere Military Sanatorium, who will address the meeting, has a thorough grip of the T.B. question, and will deal with such important 'matters as the after caro of the T.B. soldier, pensions, and repatriation. Ho has-already addressed meetings in Auckland, Christchurch, and-Dun-edin, and much good has been accomplished. This important work is being carried out under thu auspices of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association, and it is hoped that the men concerned ;wi)l nil attend.
