The Prince of Wales to-night ga.ve an official dinner aboard the Renown at Lyttelton to a number of quests including the Governor-General and Lady Liverpool, the Premier and Mrs. Massey, ■ Ma-jor-General Sir Edward Chaytor. the' Hons. Sir W. Fraser, E. P. Lee, and W. D. S. MncDonald, .Colonel Sleewan, the Mayors of Wellington, •Christ-church. Dune'din. and Lyttelton, Messrs. P.. W. M'Villy. J. Hislop, Oaptain Taha Rhodes, and the Hon. ' Mrs. Rhodes, iuid Mr. H. B. Sorenson (chairman of the. Lvttelton Harbour Board). The toasts included "The King,","The Governor-General and Lady Liverpool," I "The Government and People of New Zealand." coupled with the names of ) the Premier and the Hon. W. D. S. MacDona-UL . ■- The Governor-General tl.en proposed the, toast of "The Prince of Wales." Thero were no speeches or responses. After dinner His Royal Highness conferred the following decorations on behalf of the King :— KNIGHT COMMANDER. OF THE VICTORIAN ORDER: Sir William Fr'aser. Major-Generar Sir Edward Chaytor. MEMBER OF THE VICTORIAN ORDER: Lieutenant-Colonel J. L. Sleeman (Director of Military Training), who was attached to the Prince's suiteduring his visit. Mr. Gavin Hamilton. (Private Secretary to the Governor-General). Mr. -T. Hislop (Under-Secretary of Internal, Affairs). Mr. R. W. M'Villy (General Manager of Railways).. Mr. J. O'Donovan (Commissioner of Police). Captain Tahu Rhodes (attached as representative of the Governor-General on the Prince's staff). His Royal Hichness also invested Sir 'R. -Heaton Rhodes with the insignia of a Knight of the British Empire, already conferred upon him. After dinner a small dance was held aboard the warship. . The Renown will sail at 6.30 to-mor-row mornin?, goins; direct, via Cook Strait, to Melbourne, where Ehe is due early next Wednesday.
