GALE IN THE WAIRARAPA
(tl TELEGRAPH.—PMSS ASSOCIATION.) CABTERIO2T, This Day. A howling gale, with • intermittent gusts of hurricane force, was experienced here last night. Fences, gates, etc., have been blown down. The side of M'Phee's traction-engine shed was driven in. The gals is still raging, but fierce gusts are fewer. There-Are frequent showers of heavy rain. The fire brigade was called out at the height of the gala, but fortunately only to a chimtioy. • MASTERTON, This Day. Musterton. was visited last night by t gale of exceptional violence, the Wind reaching a force of a hurricane at times. Considerable damage was done to outbuildings, fences, snd chimneys, and big trees were uprooted. The ga]« ia still raging.
