"ELIJAH."
The box .plan for the first concert of ■the Wellington Choral Union's 1920 season opens at the Bristol on Thursday morning next, at 9 o'clock. The oratorio is to be performed at the Town, Hall on Wednesday, 2nd June. The soprano solos will be sung by Miss Belle Pollard, of j Melbourne. Miss Pollard is regarded as one of the finest exponents of oratorio in the Victorian capital. Miss Mabel Esquilant, of Dunedin, will undertake the contralto role. The tenor parts will be sustained by Mr. Walter Whyte, of Sydney, while the baritone solos will be taken by Mr. John Prouse. An added interest in "Elijah" will be the part of "The Youth," which i& to be sung by the boy soprano, Master Tom George. A rehearsal for orchestra and soloists will be held on Mdhday evening, and a full practice on Tuesday evening, both in St. John's Schoolroom, at 8 o'clock.
