CHILDREN ARE WANTED
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In expressing my firm approval of the splended leader in a recent issue of the livening Post, referring to the question of "Marriage and' Children," 1 desire to refer to an important matter which hae been discussed by the Hospital Board at two meetings of recent date. I refer to tho startling statements made by Mr. C. M. Luke ,at the meetings of the Hospital Board when dealing with the board's supply of milk, to the effect- that the milk supplied through the council depot was unfit for making humanised; milk, this necessitating the procuring of milk direct from the. Farmers. . Sir, this is a very serious matter indeed, and as a- father of a hoy who was fed on humanised milk, and" being gratified with the results of such feeding, and also a strong supporter of the Plunket system, I desire to appeal for the help of every '■ father, mother, and nurse, and supporter of Dr. Truby King's great and valuable work, and also the extraordinary fine work being accomplished by the many nurses and depots attached to the I'lunk'it system throughout New Zealand, and solicit your valuable help in asking for an immediate and clear and definite explanation from the civic authorities. 1 have noticed that during the warm weather the milk supplied through the council would not keep fresh for long; also it would not on many occasions stand - warming up. I-am told that the council pasteurises the milk before delivery , Is made to the milk vsiidiuis. "Further all the milk from different herds-is mixed together. It is unnecessary for .mo to point out the serioUEnees of Mr. C. M. Luke's remarks.—l am, etc., CHILDREN -FIRST. 20th Slay. .
