OBITUARY

MR. HENARE KAIHAU.

(HI TELBORAPH.—PRESS AfSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Obituary—Mr. Henare Kaihau, exM.P., aged 65. Heart failure waa the cause of death.

The deceased was elected Native representative for the Western Maori seat in 1896, and remained in the House until 1912, when the Hon. Dr. Pomare was returned for the constituency. He was the son of a powerful chief, and was educated at Archdeacon's Maunsell's school at Waikato. The deecaeed's powerful figure and commanding presence will be well remembered by Parliamentarians of a decade back.
