!9KIU» PRZ3S «6!I»CI.VIInS.—CIefTKSST.) <ACiTK/k:.MX - N2W EEAL*KO C/.3LE /.SSGCMTIOH.) (Received May 21, 2.30 p.m.) ■ ' LONDON, 20th. May. The Bolshavik capture of Enzeii is regarded ss ;; most serious move, in view of the military helplessness of Persia, the now responsibilities of the British in the Middle East, and the risks as regarda India. It is assumed that the Bolsheviks first aimed at the seizure of iieniken's volunteer fleet interned at linzeii, but- there is no doubt their uiti-. mate purpose is the occupation of Tell eran. The situation is aggravated by the , unreliability, of Persia's Cossack ' Division, of which five thousand are reported to sympathise openly with : Bolshevism. It is feared thai the whole division, will join the Reds.
The, Daily Mail estimates that the British troops driven out of Enxeli num-ber-400 or 500. A handful remain at Tabriz, whose fate, like that of those captured at Baku, is unknown. The whole situation involves a serious menace to the national' prestige throughout the Middle East, and endangers the vitally important oil-interests in. Persia. ''■
