At the Liverpool- wool sales there was a moderate attendance arid fair competition for good greasy combing merinos. The Continental, buyers are operating freely in faulty merinos and fine, crossbreds. Prices for fine crossbreds and best greasy merinos w«re at par with London closing rates. Medium greasy merinos declined 5 per cent., scoureds 5 to 10 per cent., and fine and medium greasy crossbreds 5, to 7i per cent. All low sojts were withdrawn. Scoured sllpes were irregular. There were heavy withdrawals of low qualities. The Bradford market is quiet, but more settled. Sixty-fours, 144 d; fifty-sixes, 00d; fifties, 68d; forty-sixes, 41d. LONDON METAL MARKET. There is a ft.rong demand for tow, prices for' which are about £11 for No. 1 and £10 for No. 2 grade. " ' ■ The shipping position has considerably improved through the coining into the trade of the Canadian Government' merchant marine, which takes cargo to Vancouver and New York. No demand for Hoe mutton tSllow."
