YACHT RACING
The Port Nicholson Yacht Club's races on Saturday were very interesting. In each case tho limit boats won. ;
In the first-class race, Viola, with 16 minutes from the scratch boat (Marangi), wan comfortably, with Wairere 11,, 30sec. later. Waitangi got third place with, a handicap of one minute. A good contest between Ailsa and Waitangi took place on the homo run from Jerningham, but the big yacht proved too fast for Ailsa. The handicaps were "light," and were given at the start. Results are as follow:— Viola (16min), 4h 35m, 1; Wairere 11. (2Dmin), 4h 35m 30aec, 2;' Waitangi (hnin), 4h 45m 55sec, 3; Ailsa (9min), 4h 46min 25sec, 4; Rona (3min), 4h 48m 44sec, 5; Marangi (scr), 4h 50m sSsec, 6. The second-class handicap was won by *Mr. Tringham's Lizzie, in splendid style. Results in this race are as follow:—Lizzie (Mmm), 4h 36m, 1; Galatea (scr), 4h 36m 38sec, 2; Wylo (lOmin), 4h 40m 48aec, 3. Atlanta and Wanderer (firsfc-claS3) aJid lolanthe and Windward (second class), did not start.
The launch race was won by Mr. T. Roijayne-'s Nellie. . t
