ATTEMPTED RESCUES
BAYONET CHARGES INEFFECTIVE.

LONDON-, 14th April. A riotous crowd at Londonderry attempted to rescue prisoners, and stoned the police. Twelve- bayonet charges were «Qt sufficient to. quell the ontbreak, -and an armoured car was called up. This fired forty-two rounds, and two civilians were wounded. "
