SALE OF BRACKENFIELD HORSES

CHRISTCHURCH, 7th April;
Several horses of Mr. G. L. Stead's Brackenfield stud were sold by auction to-day. The principal sales were:— Melee, bought by Mr. F. L. Eastgate, for 700 guineas; Kilmoon, bought by Mr. T. Rutherford, for 270 guineas; and.' Wanigan, bought by Mr. JR. M'Donald, for 2QO guineas. ■ ,
Other.horses were offered on account of other owners.
Starlike was pwsed in at 80 guineas, Grim* Joke at 200 guineas, Moorabbe at 150 guineas, Counter Attack at 250 guineas, The Shipper at 25 guineas, Marsa did not receive a bid, and Mystified was passed in at 30 guineas, and Prince Delaware at 70 guineas.
Nassau was sold to Mr. H. S. Kyle for 2100 guineas, and the bay mare Cassock to the same buyer for 475 guineas. Mr. Kyle also purchased the br m Mountain Dream for 270 guineas.
