The War Office reports : The Bolshevists captured Novorossisk (on the coast of the Black Sea, east of the entrance to the Sea of Azov) on Saturday. Before the entry of the Soviet troops the British authorities evacuated a largo number of families of officers, wounded, and others who otherwise would be exposed to reprisals by the Reds. Deniltin refused to consider an armistice, and would not avail himself of British aid, but embarked on a Russian destroyer when the evacuation wa-s complete. There was some rearguard fighting between Denikin's troops and the Bolshevists during the final stages, of the evacuation. The British mission, however, embarked safely and without loss.
