Freedom of work was only possible in bourgeois countries. Compulsory measures provoked resistance by the workers, whereupon Zinovieff proposed the abolition of trade unions, -and the introduction of a communistic dictatorship. Another difficulty was the steady increase of wages. Trotsky proposed payment by foodstuffs, but the scheme was found unworkable. The value of money is also decreasing.
