THE COPE EXPEDITION
PLANS NOT INTERRUPTED.
(VKITM FRHB ASSOCIATION.—COPTRI6HT.)
(AMTRAMAS • NEW ZBALANB CABLI ASSOCIATION.)
LONDON, 2nd March. The Geographical Society's decision does not interrupt Dr. Cope's plans.
[It was announced that the Royal Georgraphical Society, after full consideration, was unable to approve of Dr. Cope's plans or leadership of the proposed Antarctic expedition, or to give the expedition its countenance or support. The Post's London correspondent writes that when Dr. J. L, Cope goes out to New Zealand—which he will most likely do i» advance of the exploration ship—he will be accompanied by Mrs. Cope, who will remain in Wellington until the return to New Zealand of the British Imperial Antarctic Expedition. Plans of the expedition are pronounced by Dr. Cope to be progessing very well.] .
