BOMBAY, 4th March.
The Derajat column moved upriver towards Ladha without encountering organised opposition. A number of the chief tribesmen visited the camp, asking what steps were necessary to avoid a punitive expedition.. They were told that the stipulated number of rifles must immediately be forthcoming. Their request for a further period of ten days to collect the rifles was refused.
