. MELBOURNE, This Day. At Flemington the going was fast. Wildun did nine furlongs in 2min 2sec. Artilleryman went ten on the grass in 2min 15sec and Chrome nine in 2min 4sec. The latter pulled up very badly. Carriole did twelve on the tan in 2min 47sec and Menin in evens. Sydney Damsel covered four furlongs in 51sec, Publican seven in lmin 34sec, and Eastcourt eleven in 2min 30sec.
At Caulfield the going was fast. Chrsyolaus (R. Lewis) went better than Maltgilla, without shoes, over five furlongs on the grass in lmin O^sec—a record. Eusebius was sent a mile on the grass, done in lmin 45sec. Cetigne went better than Sextia over five furlongs on the grass in lmin 2jsec. Lord Setay beat Molly's Robe over six furlongs in lmin 15sec.
