HAIRDRESSERS' CHARGES
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,—The statement of increased hairdressers' charges notified yesterday appears to me to be more like 50 per cent, than 25, as you state. The reason for this is increased labour charges—"£3 15s to £4 no to £s"—(at the most, not more than 33£ per cent.), and increased cost of soap, cosmetics, and laundry charges. For haircutting no soap or cosmetics are used, and the laundered material is oi the scantiest description,' and not often changed. 1 fail to see where the justification 3s for the SO per cent, increase in haircutting charges, especially in view of the. fact tiiat it is not many year 3 since an increase of 100 per cent was made. Perhaps the Board oi Trads could explain.—l am, etc.,
NEARLY BALD.
