(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPIMOHT.)

(AUSTRALIAN - METV ZEALAND CAULS ASSOCIATION.)

WASHINGTON, 6th January. It is authoritatively stated that when Viscount Jellicoe returns to England lie will recommend a larga British fleet for Indian and Pacific waters, consisting of eight battleships of the latest type, eight modern battle-cruisers, ten light cruisers, forty destroyers, and forty submarines. The expense of construction and maintenance of this fleet would be borne partly by the British Dominions, and acceptance of the plan would be at their discretion. Viscount Jellicoe and party will sail on the New Zealand, probably for South Africa. Viscount JelUcoe visited the United States Naval Academy, and was entertained by Mr. J. Daniels (Secretary of the Navy). /
