DETERMINED ATTACKS -ON

POLICE

LONDON, 7th January.

Fifty armed men attacked the Drumlish police barracks in County Longford during the night. Five defenders repulsed the attack until the military arrived .in motor-cars. Another determined attack, lasting two. hours, was made on the Roiindstone barracks, County Galway, in which 200 Sinn Feiners were engaged. The police made a vigorous defence, and after the Sinn Feiners had dispersed pursued and captured two of the attackers. Owing to night marauding Dublin business men are employing a civil patrol to protect their premises and properties. •
