SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

There was a very full attendance of seafarers at the successful concert given by Miss D. Griffiths at the Sailors' Friend Society last evening. Those who'were encored were the jYlisses M'Ewan, Esau, Willoughby, V. Mueller, Troou, J. Lewis, and Griffiths, and Messrs. Price, Boyd, Loftie, and Lemon (Ruahine). Hospitality was provided for the guests by Mrs. M. A. Williams. This was most acceptable as the men were at sea during the holidays. The prizes for the competitions were presented ,by Miss Dalgeish, and went to the Ruahine and Mahana. Mr J. Moore, Missioner, presided. He thanked the many who had made the happy evening possible. Cheers, "God Save the King," and "Auld Lang Syne" closed an evening to be remembered by the sailors.
