CITY COUNCIL'S CONCESSIONS.

' For the furtherance of tile arrangements pf the LyaJi- Bay Victory Gala and ■Venetian Carnival the Lyall Bay Electors' Association, recently approached the Reserves Committee with certain requests. These the committee approved as follow :—Water connections to stands for supplying hot water and tea, cost to be borne by the Associattoa; permission for gale of food and refreshments on the beaclf; use of pavilion for officers and storage of goods; permission to hold side shows on the beach; permissidn to decorate beach with flags; permission for erection of conveniences.

The City Council adopted the recommendation of the committee to grant the requests, but was unable to accede to a request for further assistance for the caretaker of the beach on that occasion;
