During the war London and other cities in Great Britain successfully operated Government kitchens in the poorer quarters. Glasgow is about to launch into the enterprise of a kitchen that will provide 2COO portions each meal, to bo served at noon and in the evening. Food will bo supplied at the lowest possible price, but on a paying basis. The cooks will ba trained and the, aim is to raise the level as well as lower the cost of living. The Glasgow experiment is but the first of the kitchens, to be established by the Corporation Committee ior National Kitchens.
