It is officially reported in Tokio that China •will demand an apology for the Foochow incident, the dismissal of the Japanese Consul, compensation for the killed and injured, punishment of the offenders, the prohibition of the carriage of arms by Japanese' merchants, and tha punishment of the chief of the Japanese police. Japan is not likely to agree, claiming that the trouble originated with the stu*J; ents' boycott of Japanese goods.
